update-extraction Error
Hi Chris.
Can you or anyone help with this problem i have, my drupal site, won´t install any modules or themes.
It says "Unable to create directory 'temporary://update-extraction/insert/'" when i try to install in this case the insert module.
I´ve tried to browse for some answers on the web, it could maybe be something in the tmp directory, but when i went to confiquration/media/file system the right tmp directory was there, so no problem there.
I also checked on my FTP server that the files was writable.
Don´t know where the problem is???
Thanks for a great site.
I'll try to set the permissions again, maybe i´ve overseen something.
Thanks for the reply.
Good question.
When I run into the "Unable to create directory" issue, it's usually a permissions problem. You've already checked the tmp directory settings and make sure the permissions were good, and doing that has always solved the problem for me. Just for kicks, I might flush the caches just to make sure that there wasn't a setting that didn't update.
Also, I'd probably create a directory in the tmp directory called 'update-extraction' and set 777 permissions on that, just to see. If that didn't work, then it seems like the path might be wonky.
You can also install the modules and themes manually until you get this problem sorted out.
I'd be interested to hear if other folks have input on this.
I hope that helps, good luck!
Chris
